Why do people hate Halo Infinite so much?

Is it really that bad? The campaign was pretty meh, but multiplayer has been a lot of fun (when it works).

I used to love matchmaking in Infinite. But most everything is Forge variants of old maps which were fun for a while, but feel like 343 has walked away from this project.

Same. Matchmaking only works about half the time anymore.

The game has definitely come a long way since its release back in 2021. That was almost four years ago. I think people need to get past the fact that the newer games will never be anything like the originals. Not so much because of the developers or the content, but mainly because of people's own experiences and memories wrapped around the originals. You'll never be able to relive the same experiences the exact same way twice. It's just not possible. Make room for new experiences and new memories and maybe you'll open yourself up more to the newer games.
